Melanie was born and grew up in the U.K. As a daughter of a ballet teacher, she started ballet classes from the age of 3.
At the age of 13, after winning many scholarships and competitions she joined the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London.
Graduating at 18, Melanie was offered a contract to join the State ballet in Munich bringing her to Germany.
After many years dancing with the company she moved on to dance in the Semperoper in Dresden where she performed many solo roles in all the big classics–Swan lake, Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Taming of the Shrew, Midsummer’s Night Dream–and worked with many famous choreographers.
At the age of 29, after completing her German studies, Melanie stopped dancing and began a new career, studying at the university in Munich to become a physiotherapist. During her studies she taught adults and children in different dance schools in Munich and choreographed routines.
Melanie is currently working in a rehabilitation center specializing in dancing , sport and orthopedics, and teaches children ballet in kindergarten and school.
Melanie hopes to offer mothers the chance to tone their bodies and get fit whilst exploring the world of dance. She believes babies can be calmed and stimulated by the movement and music. She also looks forward to giving young children the chance to explore the freedom and creativity that ballet has to offer. She welcomes the opportunity to share her passion of this beautiful art form with you and your family.
